Quimialmel Colombia focuses on the distribution and sale of additives for the construction sector. It provides our clients with specific properties for their materials through technical solutions which come from years of experience and development in the different international markets where we work.

Our additives and raw materials are directed to manufacturers of construction materials such as cement, concrete and gypsum, and they are used for the manufacture and production of ceramics paste and porcelain, mortar, stucco, concretes, linings, gypsums, nozzles, fillers and cover strips like resins, cellulose, metallic soaps and potato starch.

Cellulose Polymers

The cellulose’s main function is to keep the water inside the mortar’s mass in order to save time and prevent therefore the bracket or the ceramics piece from absorbing part of this water and reducing the mass’ application time.

The company supplies both pure and modified types of cellulose.

Redispersible resins (VAE)

Redispersible resins are used when the glue-cement cannot fix in the tile mechanically due to the tile’s lack of porosity, like in the case of the porcelain tiles. Therefore, a chemical joining process represented by the redispersible resins powder is needed. The most common one is the copolymer VA/E although, as celluloses and starches, it can be combined with some other materials.

In our case the SWF 05 is a copolymerized dispersible resin together with VAC/ Veo Va/ E. This combination provides optimal adhesiveness when stripping the tiles off through immersion, heat, as well as freeze-thaw cycles.

Applied to covers filled with mortar, pigmented monolayers, among others:

Redispersible resins’ mission in this kind of application is to provide hardness in the finishing and adhesion to the bracket.
